Horacio Rafael was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina studied
art in his early childhood while working mainly with cooper molding.
During his adolescence years he practiced oil and acrylic painting with the great
mentor Diana Chalukian.
While exploring new frontiers he developed his own skills and style to create sophisticated
wood cuts using multiple wood layers. Horacio is being fascinated by the relation
between art and mathematics, this fascination is being expressed within his current
art.
Says Horacio:
"Art means: Creating by loving the creation process.
Most of my work is spontaneous with some pre-planed actions. I am an autodidact,
like other artists in the past I have the capacity and the skills to bring the subject's
characteristics 'out of the woods'.
Owning a piece of my art, a signed sculpture will be something that attracts attention.
My work stirs imagination and provokes thought."
The feelings while looking at Horacio Rafael works are mainly related to his success
in bringing out main characteristics and personality traits of the subject presented.
The wood cutting technique involved hand cutting different "layers" of wood and
stacking those pieces up in order to create a beautiful masterpiece.
Looking at the work from a close range brings out some amazing views that highlight
the new artistic working technique of Horacio. This aspect is a great feature of
Horacio's work, leaving his work spectators surprised from the hidden nature embedded
within the work (See the Beethoven's movie).
Horacio Rafael's gallery is located in Herzeliya, Israel
